Scholarships and Bursaries

ST ALBERT’S COLLEGE OFFERS A RANGE OF SCHOLARSHIPS AND BURSARIES TO NEW AND RETURNING STUDENTS.

Scholarships

A range of scholarships are available to returning students throughout the academic year. These scholarships are awarded for a number of different achievements such as academic, sporting and cultural engagement. As applications open students will be notified and forms will be available at the College Office.

 

Entrance Scholarships

The entrance scholarship is available to new students of the College. They are awarded based on merit in the areas of sporting, cultural, community service and academic performance as well as potential contribution to the College community. These scholarships are paid in equal parts in the first and second trimesters, reducing the fees payable. Please note that to be eligible to apply for an Entrance Scholarship, a student must have received an offer of a position at the College.

Applications close Friday 18th January 2019.

 

Sarah Heagney Memorial Scholarship

The Sarah Heagney Memorial Scholarship is given to an all-round first year student at St Albert’s College, who achieved a Distinction GPA in Trimester 1 and is actively involved in the College community through e.g. sport, cultural activities, community service and a commitment to the Catholic mission of the College. We encourage all first year students who meet the criteria to apply for this scholarship. The scholarship is valued at $1200.

 

Oaktree Scholarship

The Oaktree Scholarship is awarded to a 2nd year student at St Albert’s College who has shown outstanding academic improvement whilst continuing to espouse the college values (Engagement, Integrity, Respect, Service and Heritage). The recipient will also be actively engaged across many facets of College life, enhancing the collegiate environment of St Albert’s College. This scholarship is awarded to one student and is valued at $1,000.

 

Hallinan Scholarship

This Scholarship is awarded once per year to the student who achieved the highest academic performance for the previous year. The Hallinan Scholarship is valued at $1,000.

 

Academic Prizes

As well as our scholarships we also have various academic prizes on offer throughout the year.

The Fourth Year Prize for Academic Achievement

The Fourth Year Prize is awarded for the highest academic result attained by a fourth year resident at St Albert’s College.

 

Martha Hallinan Prize for Academic Achievement

The Martha Hallinan Prize, is awarded to a Third year student who performed exceptionally well in Trimester 1.

 

Senior Common Room Prize

The Senior Common Room Prize, is awarded to a second year student who performed exceptionally well in Trimester 1.

 

St Albert’s College Knights Prize

The Knights Prize is awarded to a first year student who performed exceptionally well in Trimester 1.

 

Bursaries

Bursaries are awarded upon application and are distributed based on financial need. Both new and returning students are eligible to apply.
