Cultural life at Albies

Cultural

At the annual Albies Parents’ Weekend, the College hosts a student lead Cultural Evening consisting of an Art Show and our Major annual Production each year.

In 2017 Albies performed Grease to an enthused audience of over 800, in 2018 the College brought to life ‘Footloose the musical’ , very ably headed up by student Director – Georgia Seymour. With the success of both Grease and Footloose we have been able to look to the future and begin preparing for our next biennial musical.

Also, each year, Albies competes in the University’s Intercollegiate Cultural Competition, where Colleges go head to head to battle it out for the Sir Frank Kitto (SFK) trophy.

Students get the chance to showcase their artistic talents in seven diverse creative fields:

  • Public Speaking
  • Theatre Sports
  • Small Music Ensemble
  • Debating
  • Poetry & Short Story
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Performance
